The big knit

+ Choose soft wool, cashmere, or cotton blends. Natural fabrics will breathe better than synthetics like polyester, helping to regulate body temperature and reduce odours. Cashmere and merino wool are always favourites when it comes to softness and longevity.

+ Find a good fit. A more relaxed fit will give you room for movement and layering. If it’s too tight, you’ll notice pulling at the armpits. If it’s too big, you’ll notice sagging around the chest. The bottom hem of a sweater should fall just below the waistband of your trousers and the shoulder seam should sit right at the edge of your shoulder.

Hit refresh on your knitwear with our edit of styles to wear this season. From classic roll neck and crew neck jumpers to cardigans in a colour block style, we’ve got the knits you need to style out the new season.

+ Always fold your sweaters, never hang them as that will stretch them out. Fold and keep in a drawer or on a shelf.

+ Clean your knitwear properly. Always read the tags on your knitwear and resist the urge to toss them in the washing machine with your socks and underwear. Some need to be hand washed in cold water. If in doubt read the care instructions.

Wear a shirt or t-shirt underneath.
A fitted t-shirt under your knitwear will reduce how often you need to wash them, and it will make course fabrics more comfortable to wear.
