Oiva-tallerkenen er laget av hvitt steintøy som tåler oppvaskmaskin, stekeovn, mikrobølgeovn og fryser.

Fjern klistremerket på undersiden av produktet før bruk. Klistremerket inneholder en liten mengde metall.

Oiva-produktene er designet av Sami Ruotsalainen.

I 1953, samme år som hun begynte hos Marimekko, skapte Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi Piccolo, et stripete stoffmønster malt med livlige penselstrøk. Tre år senere dukket Jokapoika-skjorten (alle gutter) laget av dette stoffet opp i butikkene og på gatene - for godt, ser det ut til.
