After covering up all winter, I’m excited to wear a dress again.

The dress up!

After covering up all winter, I’m excited to wear a dress again. Of course, I could wear one in winter with tights and knits, but it doesn’t have the same carefree simplicity as a summer dress. Whether you are going to the office, cue shirt dress, a summer garden party, a floral cotton number, or a night on the town, a cocktail mini, there is a dress for every occasion. It’s a good job Boozt has 7,726 dresses to choose from, on my last count.

So for this Editor’s letter, I thought I’d share my favourites, with styling tips on what to pair them with. And, if that doesn’t wet your dress appetite then watch our live shopping show with our fashion buyers Emily and Olivia who will show you here what to wear for every occasion over summer.

The Great White One

Wearing white during the warmer months is a given, whether it’s a white jeans, or in this case, an easy breezy white dress that will suit any occasion—from a picnic in the park to your nine-to-five and of course graduation time. Cotton poplin is timeless and is easy to accessorise whether you go for neutral or bright-coloured accessories, it will always look fresh and stylish.

The Printed One

A floral dress is a one-and-done piece and works at everything from a wedding to a garden party, family do, or date night. Of course, there’s a wide range of floral prints, so when it comes to choosing complementary pieces, pick colours and styles that match the hues and vibe of the dress print. For pretty pastel palettes go for coordinating colours or neutrals. Darker, moodier prints suit some off-duty edge with black, navy, or grey.

The Little Black One

The most iconic and versatile dress of all is undoubtedly the LBD. Made famous by Coco Chanel, this dress can take you from boardroom to ballroom with a few simple adjustments. Don’t skimp on the quality of the fabric and think of this dress as a ‘blank canvas’, so choose a simple design and layer with daring accessories.

The Sparkly One

When selecting an evening dress, there’s nothing wrong with going all-out glitzy. Use accessories to change the look: boleros, different heels, jewellery but in this instance, the dress is the show stopper. Just add a bright lip and a spritz of your favourite scent and you’re done.

The Understated One

Shirt dresses are always versatile and work harder than most dresses. They look just as great dressed down on weekends with sneakers as they do in the office with sharp heels and a blazer. Linen and cotton varieties are great for keeping cool in the summer and don’t be afraid to go for a bold colour this season. Just add a necklace to fill the open neckline.

Of course, there are so many more. Enjoy exploring!
