The September Editor's Letter

Having moved to Sweden from Sydney, I still find myself a bit upside down when it comes to the changing seasons. After all September in Australia is the start of spring, whereas here it means shorter days and autumn leaves. While we may be holding onto those summer vibes as much as we can, you can’t help getting a little cosier at home and adding a knit or a lightweight jacket to your outfits.

Let’s face it, September is the time to get cosy, so we should embrace it and this month we show you how. Whether it is creating an at-home spa for after-work pampering or looking at ways to upgrade your home for the autumn nights ahead, we give you all the styling ideas to create your haven. In beauty, we introduce you to all the new cosy fragrances, whether it’s for snuggly nights in or date night.

Of course, this is the first month of the ‘new season’ fashion, so to give you some inspiration we show you the AW22 trends and what to invest in now, plus what boots to look out for when it comes to making that all-important purchase. Dressing for the rain is always a tricky one. Don’t get me started. I cycle everywhere, but I never thought I would own a pair of rain pants! Not the chicest item, but oh so practical. We show you how to dress for it, whether you are on city errands or walking in the forest. As always, we hope The Edit inspires you and helps you to shop better.

Enjoy this month and embrace those last summer and early autumn days.

A few things I love this month…..

1/

“Any makeup product that adds impact without too much effort is always a winner in my books. With just one swipe, this liquid eyeshadow leaves a dewy, highly pigmented colour on the lids that feels cooling on application and leaves a colour that lasts all day.”

2/

“This book is pure escapism. Beautiful images of amazing yoga retreats all around the world. I lost about two hours on a recent Sunday afternoon just perusing this book, dreaming of my next adventure.”

3/

“I desperately need a new black blazer; this one is beautiful, and I know it will become my wardrobe staple. I’m just waiting until the next payday to add to the cart. Fingers crossed it’s still there.”

4/

“Graphic designs aren’t going anyway this autumn. Whether it’s a single strap, race back, or off the shoulder, the tank top has reached sculptural new heights. I will wear this one with high-waisted jeans and a chunky cardigan.”

5/

“I have recently got into perfume oils; I think because they are easy to travel with and you can roll on anywhere. This one is so sexy and blends patchouli, tobacco leaf, and bergamot into a memorable scent that lingers all day. Delicious.”
