Inspiring serving platters and decorative wall objects. With the oval platters in the Tura series, Lyngby Porcelæn continues its graphic design language, inspired by patterns in sand and stone from distant places – a captivating balance between structure and softness that invites you to rethink form and function. The Lyngby design is now firmly established as a success in the Lyngby Porcelæn collection – every piece defined by timeless lines and the uncompromising expression that characterises Lyngby Porcelæn’s minimalist and elegant look, giving the Lyngby series its unique soul. The two oval porcelain platters are both a natural extension of the Lyngby Tura series and a completely independent design statement in your home. Developed by designer Philip Bro Ludvigsen, they feature the same crisp, rhythmic grooves that define the rest of the Tura family. But unlike the distinctive, highly sculpted vases with their intricate forms and voluminous silhouettes you already know from Tura, the interpretation here unfolds in the surface. You can enjoy the same repetitive grooves, but now the series is expanded with new explorations of form. As always, beautifully stylish – yet also an eye-opener to new ways of using porcelain. The form and repetitive grooves of the platters are this time a direct reference to Philip Bro Ludvigsen’s personal encounters with patterns in nature and culture: from childhood days on Tura Beach in Australia, where he spent much time playing with sand and drawing flat patterns on endless beaches, to the fine, flat, almost meditative stone patterns of Japanese Zen gardens he experienced as a young traveller. All these impressions of sand and stone from distant places have been a great inspiration for the Tura platters. The result is a design language that balances structure and softness – between stringency and poetry. This large platter measures 48x20 cm and, like the slightly smaller platter in the series, is perfect for serving fresh fruit or sushi and can also be used as a base for a tableau of tealight holders or to display your finest finds. And both Tura platters have the unique feature of being able to be hung on the wall as decorative objects, where you can enjoy the play of light with the grooves – creating the most beautiful shadow effects and almost magical graphic depth. With their glossy glaze and white porcelain, they stand – or hang – simply and sculpturally. Alone or together, they add a truly inspiring dimension to Lyngby Porcelæn’s iconic lines. And, of course, both platters come with the iconic logo on the bottom, assuring you that you are holding a genuine design classic from Lyngby Porcelæn.
