The story of the Seattle-based brand began when Ellie Dinh wanted leggings that were better for the environment. Ellie and her husband Quang started GC in 2016, focusing on simple activewear. The brand openly explains how they make their clothes, using fabrics with fewer harmful chemicals. They mostly put the clothes together in Vietnam under good working conditions certified by SA8000, to take care of the workers. They also get some of the materials from recycling plastic bottles, fishing nets, and fabric scraps from Taiwan. What's cool is that their clothes don't have big logos. They prefer to say something with simplicity and let the quality show, which fits with the current trend of low-key luxury in fashion. These leggings and tops will stay the same, simple and carefully made, no matter which way fashion goes.
