Teddy Hermann is a German soft toy manufacturer founded in 1912 in Sonneberg, Germany, by Bernhard Hermann. In 1948, the company relocated to Hirschaid, near Bamberg, and has remained there ever since. Now in its fourth generation of family ownership, the brand's character is built around handcrafted teddy bears and plush animals made entirely in Germany. Teddy Hermann divides its product line into three categories: collector-focused bears made of mohair and traditional materials, a miniature series for enthusiasts, and a larger children's collection featuring a broad selection of plush animals. The brand is especially popular among collectors, with many of its pieces available in limited quantities. Unlike mass-market toy companies, Teddy Hermann uses small-batch production methods that have remained consistent over generations. Its bears and animals are made by hand, with attention to proportion, material quality, and finish. Boozt.com, the leading Nordic online department store, offers a selection of Teddy Hermann's plush toys, making it simple to discover the brand's handcrafted collection in one location.

FAQ
Teddy Hermann was founded in 1912 in Sonneberg, Germany, by Bernhard Hermann, who had a family history of making children's toys. He named the company after his initials, "BE HA", and started producing teddy bears and dolls right away. In 1948, the company relocated to Hirschaid, near Bamberg, where it still resides today. The brand is now led by the fourth generation of the founding family. Teddy Hermann's design approach is rooted in traditional German toy-making: bears and plush animals are handcrafted by hand, with close attention to proportion, material, and finish. The brand does not follow mass-market production principles. Instead, it continues to release small-batch and limited-edition items that appeal to both children and avid collectors. Its products are entirely made in Germany, which remains central to the brand's positioning and communication strategy.
Teddy Hermann specializes in handcrafted teddy bears and plush animals, which are all made in its Hirschaid, Germany, workshop. The brand divides its products into three categories: Hermann Teddy Original, which is aimed at collectors and features traditional and designer bears; Hermann Teddy Miniaturen, which covers bears under 12 centimetres and is unique among European producers; and Hermann Teddy Collection, which is aimed at children. Materials vary throughout the collection, with mohair being used frequently in the collector-oriented pieces, giving them a texture and character that sets them apart from standard plush toys. Many bears are produced in limited quantities, making them desirable among enthusiasts. Aside from teddy bears, Teddy Hermann also makes plush animals such as cats, dogs, birds, and monkeys. The overall offering is narrow by design, as the brand focuses on doing one thing well rather than expanding into unrelated product categories.
